Golf Rangefinders

Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized Golf Rangefinder Review.

Welcome to my review of the Nikon Coolshot Stabilized golf rangefinder.

The Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized Golf Rangefinder is one of the few rangefinders I would happily buy again and again and would recommend to anyone who cares to buy one.

If you are in the market for a new unit of a golf rangefinder and you are probably considering whether or not you should go for the Nikon Coolshot Stabilized rangefinder, this review will help you make a better buying decision.

Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized Golf Rangefinder Review – Introduction.

Before the release of the Proii version of the Coolshot Pro Stabilized, this unit held sway for many years and for a justifiable cause.

For the golfer who relies on accurate distance measurement between taking a shot, the Nikon Coolshot Provides an excellent option on the table with its rich and innovative features in the midst of thousands of other Distance Measuring Devices on the market.

I have played quite a number of rangefinders, some, I bought, the majority were sent for trying and review purposes and when I used the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized, I could tell from that moment I have found something to hold on to.

Needless to say, I have been using it since 2018 when it was released into the market and when I first tried it, and I kid you not, it’s been a glorious experience.

First Impression.

The first thing I noticed when I unboxed the package was how potable it was.

It felt comfortable in my average hands. It might feel smaller in the hands of someone with larger hands.

It is not the smallest in my opinion, just average-sized that someone with average hands can comfortably grip.

Also, I like the fact that the manual came in a different language, more than 15 languages.

This way, people from outside of the United States where English isn’t their official language can also read to get informed on how they can enjoy the experience of using the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized

Key Features.

Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized Review

There are a couple of key features powering the Niko Coolshot Pro Stabilized Rangefinder worth discussing.

Starting off, there is the Locked On Technology that ensures the rangefinder is locked on the target-the flagstick, and not the trees surrounding the green behind the flagstick. This feature is almost always accurate with measured distance.

Another important feature I saw with the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized is the Image Stabilization feature.

You know, sometimes when you shot your rangefinder at a distance, you may experience some instability in the image, or if your hands happened to shake, the image may appear unstable but with the Stabilization feature in this Unit, all that is taken care of, you don’t have to worry about that any longer.

Featuring also is the Actual Distance Indicator – Competitive Confirmation where the slope mode in the rangefinder can be turned off to comply with tournament legal.

Another feature in the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized is the Slope-Adjusted Distance using the Nikon’s ID Incline/Decline technology.

With this, golfers will better plan how to shape their shots in uphill and downhill situations. It will also help the golfer decide on the right Club to deploy in the situation.

Finally, there is the 6x advanced magnification and multicoated optics for brightness. Here, there is the Red OLED display that provides automatic brightness adjustment for ideal visibility in different light conditions.

Nikon Coolshot Pro VS Nikon Coolshot Proii.

While the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized is an awesome product and my Pick any day, the Proii came with extra and enhanced features, maybe not so many but a few worth mentioning here.

First, I would say there is an upgrade in the design structure of the Proii over the Nikon Coolshot Pro.

Also, I assumed some of the previous complaints on some technical bugs or hitches from customers must have been factored in the upgrade.

Another major difference I saw with the new Prooii over this unit is the DUAL LOCKED ON ECHO technology. The Proii models sent in an audible chirp confirmation together with the Visual to let you know you are locked on the target.

The Coolshot Pro unit only sent in Visual confirmation.

Pros:

  • Portable, fits well in average hands and is extremely easy to use.
  • Waterproof so you don’t have to worry about it getting wet or maybe playing in the rain.
  • Stabilizes unstable images when locked on.
  • Fast and accurate display.
  • Shots real well even in low light.
  • It’s also lightweight and easy to carry about.

Cons:

  • First, the Price is extremely high and near impossible for people on a tight budget.
  • Secondly, the Size could be real problematic for people with larger hands to hold.
  • Most modern golf rangefinders have a Magnetic Cart Mount where the rangefinder can be easily mounted on the golf Cart, where it can easily be found while moving around the course.

Where To Buy The Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized Golf Rangefinder.

There are a number of places you can order your favorite Rangefinder including on the Nikon Webpage and other vendors online.

But for convenience and the best shopping experience, My best and #1 recommended place is the Nikon Brands Store On Amazon.com.

Conclusion.

Conclusively, the Nokon Coolshot is an innovative rangefinder and features new technology and before now, was the reference point for many people when looking at buying a new unit of golf rangefinder.

Like anything else, there are a few concerns as listed in the Cons section but when you look at the features and benefits, For me, the benefits by far outweigh any cons.

So, if you are considering buying a new unit of golf rangefinder, you want to look at the Nikon Coolshot Pro Stabilized.
